Well known Konami game
Gradius III is well known for its difficulty. Compared to its arcade counterpart, the game is forgiving and offers special content found for the home console. There are some issues regarding slowdowns, however this problem can be of great advantage to the player as he/she can buy more time to move the Vic Viper spaceship to safety away from projectiles and obstacles. Though a challenging and difficult game, it is no question that Gradius is best known for these traits. Gradius III is a good game and I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Shmups, SNES, and Konami.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

A necessity for any SNES collection
If you own a SNES, you need to own this game. As far as side-scrolling space shooters go, this is the standard. Additionally, there is some blog out there somewhere about some guy who is overly obsessed with the music, you should probably track that down. Nostalgia 3
I grew up playing this game. Really hard, you have to try over and over. Definitely use the 30 lives code. I say if you can make it to the speed level before game over then well done. There are definitely harder games, like the actual arcade version of this for instance, the SNES version just feels right somehow. More balanced maybe. I never actually owned a copy of gradius 3 until recently and considering how expensive almost any other decent SNES game is nowadays, this one's still cheap on eBay (as of 2016). Gradius 3 is awesome just play it. Quick side note; this is a game where a low "input lag" on a modern TV is necessary. Use your game mode if possible.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
